Open letter to the protesters in the Wisconsin State Capitol: |
|
First, good job people. Taking the Capitol was the right thing to do at the right time. Keep it, and if they actually try to get the police (who don't seem sympathetic to poor Scotty's plight) to remove you, sit and link arms. Don't resist but do not help.
Now, I've heard a number of you complain about the one door and the metal detector. That metal detector is actually your friend. I've seen how peaceful you guys have been through this all and while I have a lot of confidence in you, I don't have any confidence in provocateurs who may try to infiltrate your peaceful and lawful protest. I don't trust that some lone right wing crazy won't come and shoot one of you or even a Senator and blame it on your side. Fight the right fight, don't fight the metal detector, please.
Thank you,
A fellow union member in Washington State

1. Within a just society that makes sense. |
|
If you had someone try to take your beer and travel money from you unjustly.
Then you have to turn the metal detector on them and collect up all their guns.
And I am still due beer and travel money and many experiences.

2. good point about the metal detector and the provacateur |
|
you are correct about them trying to incite us. I think this whole damn vote thing is just to incite. Snotty and his troop of ass-kissing followers know that. They want to see if they can rile up the masses.
Oh, we're riled, but I agree, keep it peaceful. Show up to work tomorrow because that is exactly what he DOESN'T want to have happen.
Well, screw you, Snotty. I'll be at my job tomorrow because I owe it to a great group of kids. I'll see YOU on Saturday.

5. Can you do a work to contract |
|
type strike? I know some teachers that did it years ago and it worked. They arrived at the contracted time, not a minute earlier and left at contracted time, not a minute later. Same with lunch and no playing lunch room monitor unless it is written into the contract. No grading papers, phone calls to parents etc. in off work hours. Most teachers I know put in a lot of hours after the school day is over.
Thinking that most public service employees put in extra hours and that not giving their time for free might remind everyone how much everyone counts on those same public employees.

|
in the union any more (you can't be an administrator and do that) so, no, I technically can't. My staff can.

school district but it would also make your life harder as an administrator.
