Just because you win an election does not mean you can do whatever you have the votes to do. There are established laws and traditions that must not be trampled upon.

This is what the Republican Party is doing in Wisconsin and several other states, as well as in the Federal government in Washington.

They might argue that there was no "consent of the governed" when the Democrats passed the "Obamacare" bill? But it was different. The Tea Party was organized by outside interests that was not in the best interests of the people protesting. Their "death panels" and support for the insurance companies was not created from the grasssroots, as are these protests in Madison and elsewhere, that are protecting the actual interests of the working and middle-class.

They have usurped the authority given them in the last election. In truly Machivellian style, they dont really give a damn what the majority of the people want or think. They are hellbent on destruction of unions, public and private.

In Michigan, they are saying that the Governor has the power to dissolve local governments. He can get rid of Mayors and City Councils that were voted in by the people. This is insanity.

The people do not consent to this type of governing. Without the consent of the governed, there is no legitimacy. Without legitimacy, nothing is legal. There should be a special election, just like in California when Gray Davis was kicked out and Swartzenegger was installed. This cannot stand. The people still rule in a democracy, no matter how many elections you may steal, by deception or otherwise.

1. Hell Hath No Fury Like A Voter Scorned...........
It seems like voters remorse is setting in all across this country. Let's hope that all this dirty dealing by the Repugs seals their fate in elections to come. I think 'we the people' have a good idea now as to what the Repugs were up to. Let's just hope that the Repugs shot themselves in the foot for the last time.

9. The recall is the mechanism to ensure consent of the governed
What was witnessed last night wasn't just losing a vote, it was a grievous travesty.
The republican senators were ashamed of their own actions.
So much so that fled the Capitol under State Police protection through tunnels.
The people of this state saw it, understood the evil of it, and will do what is necessary.
The Republican Party is going to be dragged back through the mud of their own making.
When its over, "Republican" will be a very dirty word in the land of sky blue waters.
The republican senators were ashamed of their own actions.
So much so that fled the Capitol under State Police protection through tunnels.

6. Always vote and always vote Dem straight ticket
I haven't been in love with all the Dems, but have never found a republican I felt was qualified for any elected office. You just don't want to encourage that sort of thinking.

5. They think they know better
than the rest of us. They seem to think that if they get this crap in place and then tell us it is chocolate, we will grow to love it. Democracy and developing such consent is slow, they got tired of waiting.
