We need a Howard Dean - like figure to wake the Dem party
from its long slumber. Check the pulse and see if its still beating. A dynamic leader who can whip those wimpy prominent Dems into action.

5. I WANT A New Leader, Or Maybe A LEADER!!! Who? Grayson Is Super, But
he will NEVER be allowed to get elected! TPTB are holding the cards and they are MIGHTY!! I've seen this roll out of backing "their" own in D.C. for too, too many years!!

Our very OWN Democrats chose OBAMA way back in 2004 through 2006 and then they started the "grooming!" I don't have links for this, but I HAVE read documentation about it!! Maybe someone here can find the info on it, I KNOW it's out there because it's been discussed here many times and with many of my personal circle of friends!

6. Elected office seems to stifle potential grassroots influence.
Obama had a good thing going, but when he got elected he made the decision to try and represent "all the people" including ones who don't him representing them. That's his choice that we lost out on a different kind of opportunity for change, but I'm over the disappointment and ready to MoveOn. I don't want to see Obama put on his bunny slippers and go to Madison. I do want to see more Michael Moores, Howard Deans, Alan Graysons, Al Gores, Omaha Steves, Matt Damons, etc. on the ground.

We need a supergroup of activist leaders - front and center - who can bypass Washington, attract and empower large groups of people for a sustained period of time. If we all get behind one group/one cause and commit we can win. It doesn't even really matter what the cause is - but we have a golden opportunity TODAY to assemble a massive show of force. We've done it before.

11. I HAVE To Agree With You... My Anger Has Been Building For Far Too Long AND
I DO see that elected officials AREN'T the answer! Would LOVE to see ALL of the people you mentioned "get on board" because I too have seen it before. So far, ONLY Michael Moore seems to be out there!

NOW, if there is a way to contact these groups then THIS course of action might just be the VERY BEST way to have a REAL show of force. However, for now I simply can't find it within myself to be all that supportive of the D.C. ELITES and TPTB as I see them as weak and ineffective, say nothing of how much they BOW down to the GOD OF GREED!!

But, your solution is a better way to go, and while I NO LONGER utter the word HOPE as theory, my WISH is that the OTHER powerful people you talk about will step up to the plate.

Is there any way WE can contact and urge them that the TIME IS NOW??

8. the problem is we have Democrats like Howard Dean
Edited on Thu Mar-10-11 10:23 AM by INdemo
Sen.Sherrod Brown, Alan Grayson,Sen.Bernie Sanders ..that are interviewed by media groups (mainly MSNB) and they tell us what needs to be done and what Democrats in Washington are dong wrong. They criticize actions by the President but yet defend him..They need to step forward and do more than just discuss this with liberal media hosts..They need to take action..They need to step forward and challenge President Obama so we have a choice in 2012.

Sanders would be my first choice..Howard Dean might be ok but he is still a double talker and he has more excuses for the do nothing corporatist than most.

10. We DEFINITELY need a DEMOCRATIC leader! How to get the word out?
YouTube? Internet only? The corporate media won't do it. We need a leader to raise the Boomers up and swat down this corporate mess! Grayson could do it, Michael Moore, Russ Feingold, Alec Baldwin, Bill Clinton "could" but I doubt he would. Anyway, someone new might be needed without so much baggage. This leader needs to truly reach across party lines by pushing progressive pragmatic solutions to our common problems. Somebody help!!!!!!

12. Clinton "Could" But It Was He Who Lead The Way Of The DLC! If He Sees What
it has done to the Democratic Party he would be one of the BEST choices, he has THAT power & charissma... still I'm not all that sure he WANTS to put himself out there. ESPECIALLY because of how very many DLC types took his lead and followed behind.

We STILL haven't addressed NAFTA again, which was something that was part of it's passage! So, so many years ago it was on the table to be re-negotiated! I have yet to see ANYTHING!
