So how do they plan to hold WI from turning Blue and undoing these laws?
They've played some really over-reaching schemes to get what they wanted, turning huge numbers of people against them. Do they not think that Dems will get voted into office by huge numbers and simply repeal these laws? Or big enough numbers to put some of these things in their Constitution to protect them? There's not enough short term gain for them in doing this if it's going to be undone in a couple years max.

What's their gameplan that keeps that from ever happening? Or did they just seriously underestimate their own level of support? Shouldn't the multiple polls be telling them that it can't last?

1. they don't have a plan. Repukes can't see past their latest new toy.
They don't know how to make change that lasts.

3. Those tax breaks for the rich seem to be lasting.
Reagan's union-busting lasted.

6. Oh, no, not at all. All Obama has to do is let them expire.
That will be so much easier than actually rescinding them, you know, like he said he was going to do during the campaign. At the end of 2010 they'll expire and he won't have to spend any of his political capital to. . . .

Oh, wait. Sorry. My bad.

:sarcasm:

14. Do you think that the Wisconsin bill will last beyond 2012? Really and truly?

16. No, I don't. I believe there will be a successful recall of at least 6
of the 8 vulnerable, and there will be a Dem Senate by June. I also think Walker will be recalled in a year. However, I can think of a number of destructive things done by people like Toxic Tommy Thompson when he was Governor that remain in place. Things like the politicization of the DNR Board

2. Voter suppression
All they have to do is depress blue turnout by five to 10 points. Voter ID, no day-of registration, disenfranchising college students, and simple brute-force intimidation. And don't forget the media. The results add up and require a concerted Democratic effort to fight.

and we didn't fix the election problems.

11. 67% plus should be voting them out if the polling is accurate - that's a helluva
lot of numbers to steal

5. Maybe they have painted themselves into a corner.
I think some of them must see it. They must realize that their political careers are over. They are doing as they are told. Maybe some of them realize it is not worth it any more.

They will not win. Wisconsin will be blue for at least a generation. They will be responsible for a resurgence of unions and a new round of Democratic majorities in many places. At least some of them may be going through the motions while they are still around to do it.

I have known other people who have been divorced from reality.

13. I hope you're correct, but I'm not optimistic. Memories are awfully short, especially
when there's no study of history to remember. And apathy and indifference seem to have been elevated to the status of sacraments.

15. Kids in Wisconsin schools have been taught the history
of Robert La Follette and what he did. He fought the corporations at the time and made a real diffence. Now they see the corporations going after the population once again and know it's not right.

7. Citizens United.
Remember how the GOP all said it was no big deal because Unions would get the same rights as corporations?

Now these same people are destroying the unions.

10. Simple
They never had a plan! Walker only wants to climb the ladder in the republican party, and he doesn't care about Wisconsin, the people of Wisconsin, the country, or anything else, only his ambitions are what matters!

What the moron doesn't see is he now has way to many negatives to make it on the ticket in 2012, and probably even 2016! The idiot is going to be thrown under the bus, and he deserves it if you ask me!

20. Criminality, the most powerful propaganda system in history, tons of Ca$h, and
soft to complicit opposition.

aka

Same as always.

They aren't playing the same game as we are. They have absolutely no goal to govern and know we do a poor job of even attempting to restore what they broke.
