Don't get me wrong; I still like DU. I still hang out here. But I value it more now for some of the lesser forums, and the Lounge, than I do for the bigger forums these days. Most of the time I do, anyway.

Anybody else feel this way?

2. It works better when we have a common goal or working against someone/something in particular
otherwise it deteriorates. Back during shrub yrs it was the same, except then we also had the common goal.

I know what you mean. It is a really good place to get news, and when something is going on is a great place. Otherwise I agree, the smaller forums are where it is at.

5. Is there anything we can do to make it more entertaining?
Maybe it's burnout, or outrage fatigue. I get that from time to time.

8. I for one wish some of the lesser forums were more active, including

Fiction, Non-fiction, True Crime, Travel, World History....

6. No, DU is great as usual to me
A forum where everyone thought the same thing would be dreadfully boring.

7. I think DU was more united when Junior was in office.
IMHO, it's no less interesting though. In same ways, it's more interesting to see how positions of some people change depending upon who's in charge.

10. It would be more interesting if Obama's administration would back us up rather than
attacking us. He divides us, daily.
