In a safe in Loughner's home, authorities uncovered a 2007 letter pertaining to one of Giffords' "Congress on Your Corner" events. The letter was addressed to "Jared Loughney" and signed by Giffords.

On a manila envelope in the safe, authorities found hand-written notes on a manila envelope: "I planned ahead! My assassination. Love - Jared," and "Giffords." Writing on another note read, "What is government if words don't have a meaning?" A "shrooms" magnet was also uncovered, among other items.

Among the other items seized from Loughner's home were letters and a journal, as well as live ammunition, four spent rounds, drawing of weapons, a Chase credit card and photo negatives.

Investigators also documented farewell messages on Loughner's YouTube and MySpace pages. On the latter, Loughner had posted a picture of a Glock, the type of handgun alleged to have been used in the killings, lying on a history book.
