1. Good idea! But...
... I don't know if I would trust Holder to investigate or prosecute anyone
that supports the corporate fascist agenda. I wouldn't mind being
surprised, though.

2. That's for sure.
Holder is utterly useless, unless you're a big shot, then he'll cover your ass.

9. I can't wait until 2012 to see Obama caught in the headlights in the partisan GOP machine

After all of his posturing and selling out, preaching "BI PARTISANSHIP!", it's going to be a disaster. A completely predictable disaster, but a disaster nonetheless.

Of course, he's playing 12 dimensional chess, so onward with the Hope and Change! :sarcasm:

4. Can't individuals initiate RICO suits?
Edited on Thu Mar-10-11 03:48 PM by damntexdem
And recover something like triple damages?

From Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Racketeer_Influenced_and_Corrupt_Organizations_Act):
'A "person damaged in his business or property" can sue one or more "racketeers." The plaintiff must prove the existence of a "criminal enterprise." The defendant(s) are not the enterprise; in other words, the defendant(s) and the enterprise are not one and the same. There must be one of four specified relationships between the defendant(s) and the enterprise. A civil RICO action, like many lawsuits based on federal law, can be filed in state or federal court.<5>

Both the federal and civil components allow for the recovery of treble damages (damages in triple the amount of actual/compensatory damages).'

10. Holder is a useless placeholder. He defended paramilitary mudurers of trade unionists
in Latin America.

The USA needs to add legal staff to prosecute under RICO, anti-trust, war crimes, etc.

Many new jobs. insert Sarcasm

Problem is that attention to the law at this point would take down both major parties, the military, and most other institutions.

If Cheney, Bush, Rumsfeld, Powell, Rice, et al aren't prosecuted for war crimes of the highest order, there is no law.

If Wall Street Titans and International Bankers aren't prosecuted for fraud (and their enabling co-conspiracers in government and the Fed aren't prosecuted and convicted, there is no law.

Holder is a uniquely American fascist whether he realizes the fact or not.

Ironic for all our Freedom, there are more per capita convicts in the USA and just about all of us could be targeted for some reason.

11. Dammit, get it through your thick heads
This Justice Department is not about lookin' backwards to the past. They look forward to the future! They're not going to be poking around in this ancient history on the off chance that someone didn't properly dot an i or cross a t. The Justice Department is far too busy for that!
