2. In their dreams, they were all plantation owners.
And happy darkies served them juleps while singing and dancing.

Slaves must be given some degree of health care and housing.

14. This is correct. They don't want the responsibilities that come with slavery.
Those things are what bootstraps are for.

They not only want all the resources, they must transfer any obligation of ownership and all the downside of anything they touch. They used to tolerate socializing the downside from the environment to welfare but they realized that taxes means the downside has not FULLY been transferred and blew a circuit, apparently.

By willfully eliminating the possibility of socializing risk, they have made the distortions and damage purposefully created in search of profits and growth "an individual responsibility".

Those they need will have enough resources to subsist, if one breaks or wears out there is a very "competitive" underclass hungry to do more for less to give a shot to.

"Capitalism is the astounding belief that the wickedest of men will do the most wickedest of things for the greatest good of everyone." ~John Maynard Keynes

"The crippling of individuals I consider the worst evil of capitalism. Our whole educational system suffers from this evil. An exaggerated competitive attitude is inculcated into the student, who is trained to worship acquisitive success as a preparation for his future career." ~Albert Einstein

"It's impossible for capitalism to survive, primarily because the system needs blood to suck... And as the peoples of the world free themselves, capitalism has less victims, less to suck, and it becomes weaker and weaker. It's only a matter of time, in my opinion, before it will collapse completely." ~Malcolm X

10. The problem is they don't accept the fact that the wealthy are parasites.
Edited on Thu Mar-10-11 07:55 PM by baldguy
Not that there's anything wrong with that. There's plenty of room for parasites in the economic food chain - it just shouldn't be geared to keeping the tapeworms, blood-sucking leeches & bot fly larvae fat and happy at everyone else's expense.
