They are pissing on my Grandfather's and Father's graves |

Edited on Thu Mar-10-11 09:00 PM by guitar man
My Grandfather was a union man in the 30's, stood up during the hardest of times for every worker in this country. My Dad was a die hard Teamster from the '50s through the 80s when he retired, he also stood up for us , staunch advocate for working people until the day he died.
Now look at this shit, black hearted evil billionaire bastards and their toadies trying to undo everything they sweated and bled for so we could have a better life. It's beyond disgusting. :grr:
Here's a hearty FUCK YOU to every right wing shithead involved in the destruction of equity for workers in this country!!
And here's a toast to Grandad, Dad and all their contemporaries :toast:
god help us should we fail them :(

13. me too. My granddad helped organize railroad unions and was |
|
blackballed. Had to walk to other towns on the tracks to do day labor. My father and mother backed a union strike and I still remember everything we owned being repossessed. get this,. it was the high school principal on his summer job that had to do it. Nothing changes. Everything changes.

2. My Grandfather and Dad were steelworkers |
|
My Dzedo (Grandfather) stood out at the gates of the mill during the depression waiting for someone inside to have an accident, so he would be called in to work :-(. My Dad was a union leader at the mill and retired after 45 years of service. He was in Chicago in 1968 during the Dem. Convention as the USWA national convention was going on there too and he was a rep for his union.
They did not work hard and go on strike for better working conditions, decent wages and benefits in vain....
:toast: and we will not fail them

9. I don't think they have a clue |

How personal this is. I don't know everything Dad and Grandad did for us, but I know some of it, and it wasn't always pretty. To them, it was worth dying for, and I suppose it was worth killing for if necessary. Dad was a dual purple heart Korea vet with an 8th grade education. He drove a truck 70 hours a week and the Teamsters helped make sure he got paid well for it.
Silver spoon babies like the Kochs could never understand that...

I'm a coal miner's wife, daughter and granddaughter. My Dad's brother was an organizer for what was the CIO. This is an insult to those who've already fought and won these battles.
