Many, many years ago, Paul Robeson stood with the workers on the site of the partially built Sydney Opera House
and sang this song. It's still talked about today.

Wow.

When I was a little girl I would play his Ballad for Americans every Sunday. The 78 was yellow, not black, and I kept it very carefully so nothing scratched it.

3. When I was a little girl,
I used to ask my mother to "play Paul Robeson, Mummy". She was a fan, and she had a 78 recording of "No, John, No"
that I loved. I was about four, and it's the first song I remember ever really listening to.
