1. This is true. I think if the midterms were tomorrow, we'd be looking at at least holding the house.. |
|
...if not possibly gaining a few seats.

4. Because Obama made them break their "No streak"....... |
|
by throwing them a bone. And, he took away their "fiscal responsibility" argument with it! So shit, if they aren't doing the "no" thingie, might as well get some stuff done and go home. Lindsay Graham is already mainlining Geritol and gulping down "5 hr energy" drinks just to make it up the steps of the capital. McConnel hasn't had a diaper change in a week. This is gettin serious!

5. Republicans were thinking of 2012 and nothing more... |

Americans are not stupid, well some are, but a lot of them are not. To many conservative Dems, wanted to be re-elected. For one thing we have far to many racists in this country. They never gave Obama's plans a chance....

6. Because Obama and The DEMS couldn't Get What They Got Done |
|
in the last 2 weeks without the cooperation of the GOP and the GOP wasn't going to give Obama and The DEMS any victories in the weeks of September or October leading up to the midterms.
It's all about messaging. For the next 2 years all we will hear from them is:
We preserved the Bush taxcuts to save the economy,
We got 2 billion cut from the 9-11 responders bill,
We lost on DADT, but we'll fix it in the next session,
Etc. and so on.
And soon the MSM will be echoing that message, if anyone even cares anymore.

7. Perhaps because the Republicans who voted for the passage of these bills |
|
hadn't yet realized how many Tea Party candidates would win. Now they know and it scares them because they know it's over for the old GOP. The Republican Party with the infusion of teabaggerati energy will never be the same again. Sane Republicans can see this coming and maybe decided it was more important to do the right thing this time.

8. Once the Republicans had won in the MidTerm Elelections, they |
|
were more willing to work with Dems. Up until the elections their goal was to stop any legislation they could in order to make Dems look weak and ineffective. This was their strategy to win the elections.
