WARNING: This video footage taken from overhead is among the most terrifying things I've ever seen. A giant black wall of mud and debris sweeping inland, swallowing everything for miles and miles. There was no real evacuation.

10. Al Jazeera has much clearer & bigger video. Here:
You have to click on the top left video.
Be aware that the live stream video, at bottom right, will automatically come on, you will have to mute that sound.

19. See the people driving cars at 0.50 and 2.20?
Holy shit, if I saw that coming towards me, my foot would go through the floorboard jamming the gas pedal.

21. I have to give the cameraman credit for not showing the wave hitting cars on the road.
If you watch closely, you'll notice that every time the wave approaches a road where there are moving cars, he carefully moves it out of frame. If it had been a Fox News helicopter, they would have been hovering feet above the road, zooming in on the faces of the people in the cars.

25. Oh my god. What a disaster. This is what happened to the Gulf Coast.
The horror and wonder of this is that, unlike with Katrina, the weather is clear and this footage can be shot. I'm not trying to co-opt the horror; just the opposite. I am so heartbroken for these people and this land, and know what it is like. No words...

26. It was hundreds and hundreds of houses!!
There is NO WAY only 60 people were killed!! Those poor people driving, ugh, this gets me in the gut.

Sensitive people, do NOT watch the videos. It will give you PTSD, I think I can't watch anymore. Like the woman running out to her husband and daughter in the NY Times when that last tsunami hit, I will never get the image of that white car/truck trying to escape, starting to head across the field.

I pray for these poor people.

That is definitely an amazing video to watch :(. The cars you see speeding to get out of the way, not knowing that the road they're on might wind up boxing them in. The huge fires advancing inward, carried by the waves. Damn.
