Long range thoughts on Wisonsin... |
|
Edited on Fri Mar-11-11 10:21 AM by Javaman
The repukes are effectively done in that state.
After this whole mess, after the recall, this year and next year of asshole walker, it will be minor miracle for the repukes to have a majority of any kind ever again in that state.
They passed over the pistol and used a bazooka to shoot their foot.
Remember this too. What ever happened, what ever bullshit the repukes pull in Wisconsin, it can be undone.
I am so not saying anything about defeat of the current issue, I'm looking toward a very bright future.
Cheers and hang strong Wisconsin. Before you know it, walker and his thugs will be sporting orange. :)

|
destroy the State sufficiently. this is why he has to go now or asap.

I think when he violate the rule of order regarding the quick vote, that will be his ultimate undoing.
do not pass go, go directly to jail. In otherwords, recall may not be required.

into promises with the Companies working in the shadows, it is near impossible to get out without financial damages to the State. He must be stopped now. You cannot fine any of these Companies enough to repair the long term damage done, human poisonings, species lost. You cannot buy that back. When it is gone it is gone. Currently in MN. just because of the prelim sale of one Company to another to do the mining, a few million dollars has come in and is held up as a good thing economically. After they are done, no amount of millions will repair the damage. No amount. But they don't give a shat because it takes a sociopathic and or narcisstic personality to lead these projects and carry them out.

4. I have yet to see evidence of voters' memories lasting over a month |
|
or an ability to learn from past mistakes.
But I've never seen such a ham-fisted affront on Democracy like this, either, so I hope you're right and people got the wake-up call.

If the recall effort keeps the momentum and get accomplished in short order what you say might happen. If things drag on too long and the billionaires put millions into advertising, they may not only hang on but get even more fascist. The moment is now and we, especially those in wisconsin, can't afford to lose this battle.

10. Walker did to Wisconsin what Bush Inc. did to the U.S Government... |
|
Edited on Fri Mar-11-11 10:28 AM by Ozymanithrax
He took a state that was financially solvent, and even had a surplus, and with tax cuts and draconian stupidity wrecked the system.
Wisconsinites will, I hope, kick the Republican's sorry asses out on the street. But fixing the mess will take more than just returning sanity to state government. What Walker did in 2 months won't be undone as quickly.

11. Corporations will pour millions of dollars into Wisconsin |

to save their boy from a recall. I am not saying it will work but money talks when it comes to elections. Democrats will have to stay 100% motivated and not lose their edge. Recalling an incumbent governor is a daunting task. I am not playing Debbie Downer here but just suggesting we keep everything in perspective and not underestimate the challenge.

12. Sorta agree ... there are far-flung very small insulated towns .. |

.. in WI that will ALWAYS vote (R), so while they may never have this kind of domination again, they'll always be enough of them to be a pain in the ass.

in 2 years Republicans took the house back and many state legislatures. Sorry but too many Americans vote team Republican for me to believe they are dead and will stay dead again.
