More ridiculous bones thrown to neanderthals
Edited on Fri Mar-11-11 12:40 PM by FLAprogressive
"Increase domestic oil production" -- give me a break, Mr. President....you know that that will not do jack shit to reduce prices.

HIT WALL STREET. No "Drill Baby Drill" shit.

5. BP doesnt want to increase domestic production, they are enjoying $100 a barrel gas
why would they want to increase supplies and drive down the price?

They have done extensive surveys and they know where it is, but dont really want to get more than just a trickle.

8. And we control whether they hoard the oil or put it into circulation?
I don't think so. If more is produced for those greedy bastards, they'll just sit on it until the price is right.

11. I can imagine they're considering investing in one
It's integral to greed and capitalism, to figure out how to make more more more. If they can figure out how to store it, I'd bet they will.

6. Domestic Oil Production has actually increased 8% since 2008
Since their "Drill baby Drill" chants in between their USA...USA...USA and 2nd Amendment Remedies..That and Demand is actually down from the same time last year and yet oil prices are still climbing....Speculators...

How can he not understand that.

Contributions. All it amounts to. Was that speech for Americans or Big Oil Contributors? I have a hunch on that.

12. This is a wise, wise move. Another brilliant play by the prez.....
How? I'm not sure, but I'm quite sure there's a contingent of folks who will tell us it is and tie themselves into pretzel knots attempting to do so.

23. Actually what I'm reading is....
"This is a wise move. It takes this issue off the table for Republicans to use."

Completely ignoring the fact that he's supposedly been doing this for 2 years and they have not taken anything off the table.

Again and again I come back to not knowing which would make me feel worse. If all of this is the result of willful stupidity and naivete or if it's the result of active complicity.

19. Stop letting Wall Street drive up the price of commodities.
It's that simple. You don't even have to come up with a clever solution-- just reinstitute the commodity trading laws they paid to have repealed a few years back.

which, as you pointed out in your other thread, he's been saying for 3 years.

24. That poster is a good example of people hearing only what they want to hear.
The fact that he didn't even notice that Obama immediately turned around and said something 180 degrees removed from the statement he liked is a testament to Obama's skill as a politician.
