Dane County (WI) sues state to block budget bill.
Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk is suing legislative leaders and the state in an attempt to block the enactment of the budget repair bill passed Thursday night and signed by Gov. Scott Walker Friday morning.

The lawsuit was filed by Corporation Counsel Marcia MacKenzie in Dane County Circuit Court.

The county also wants the bill to be declared unconstitutional.

"Publication of the bill will create a statute that will immediately cause irreparable harm to the plaintiffs, because of certain fiscal portions of the bill that become effective upon publication," the lawsuit said.

1. Fantastic
They need to get other counties and cities and people behind them and create something like a class action lawsuit.

2. This is not over.
There are so many other ways they can be sued. They violated the open meetings act, too.

3. The lawsuit will prevail - the law is on their side
And I hope Dane County has prepared many, many indictments for the Republican Assemblemens and Republican Senators for trying to do an end-round of a very specific existing law.

In order to get out of the indictments, they must agree to resign, effective immediately, donate all their campaign cash to union needs and get out of Wisconsin. For each plea agreement, they will earn a one way ticket to Mogadishu from Madison via Milwaukee.

4. Dane County
was founded and settled by Norwegians who came here in the 1840's to get away from this shit. Do NOT mess with their descendants. The Wisconsin GOP ought to say the prayers of the Irish monks: Dear God, protect us from the Northmen.

6. A judge has already denied the request for a TRO
against the bill.

They need to go back to court for a permanent injunction, and whatever else they need to do to stop this. The courts and the voting booth are the best recourse in WI now. This will take time.

Patience, cheeseheads. Remember, you are people who fish through the ice.
