Every Wisconsin Republican is breathing a sigh of relief today. |
|
I don't mean to detract from what's happening in Japan, but if we let Wisconsin fall off the radar, especially after Walker signed the bill today, they win.

ABC didn't even mention Wisconsin last night on 'World News Tonight'. Not one peep. Plenty of fluff pieces about other issues.
You know, Charlie Sheen is way more important than Wisconsin.

I think Charlie Sheen can be a glimpse of the republicans future, because that is how most of them are going to be in 10 years. Strung out, crazy and ranting on You Tube about how the people of the united states don't know whats good for themselves.

might be paying attention to world news.

Meanwhile, here in Wisconsin we are pulling the old rusty claymores out of the roof thatch and preparing for tomorrow.
It's not like the DNC or the DSCC or the DCCC is actually doing anything to keep the pressure on.
We are not going to listen to tomorrow's fireside chat. This is OURS,
Though we thank-you very much for the pizzas.
When it is OVER, Wisconsinites will face our future apart from the rest of the Democratic Party. WE go into this risking jobs, the rights to bargain, access to medical care for the poor and elderly. And we face the sell-off of OUR common-wealth to Assholes like the Koch's for pennies on the dollar.
When it is over, we aren't going to be looking to those who kept their powder dry to protect Financial Institutions and REFORM education!
We will look among ourselves, and we WILL go ONWARD!
This Is Wisconsin!
We ARE the offspring of the IRON BRIGADE...When in doubt we WILL CHARGE!

15. Wisconsin has never been on the national media's radar |
|
so it can't fall off. IN any event, the earthquake in Japan will hold the ADD-afflicted American public's attention for maybe the weekend, and then they will lose interest because, after all, the earthquake happened Somewhere Else. People will say "Isn't that sad?" and go back to news about Charlie Sheen. The supporters of the Wisconsin labor movement need to just keep doing what they've been doing regardless of what the ninnies who manage the "news" are doing. And keep on doing it and keep on doing it. It's how these movements grow. We just do it, for as long as it takes.

I agree, your right. I feel kind of bad for thinking about that almost right away, but I guess I am too much of a political partisan to not look for a political angle in everything.
Massive protests in Wisconsin on Saturday will be ignored more than ever now. Saturday is going to be wall to wall coverage of the earthquake/tsunami, and probably near nothing about Wisconsin.
