So if the NFL tries to field a team of scabs like in 1987....
Edited on Fri Mar-11-11 05:13 PM by Scuba
...and the Green Bay Packers don't go along, being owned by the fans (we're looking pretty BLUE here right now), I predict the following for the 2011 season:

GB 165, Chicago 0

GB 192, Minnesota 0

GB 228, Detroit 0

Etc, etc, etc.

Thanks to my daughter for inspiring this post.

2. Hate to break it to you
but fan owned or not, I bet the players would stand with the union. (at least I hope so. Go Bears!)

3. The Packers are part of the Union
they would never play if there was a strike and if there was a lockout, there would be no season period.

6. They Can't

The 1987 situation was a strike, if memory serves. A strike typically permits management to employ replacement workers. A lockout does not. There are exceptions and I'm not suggesting that the NFL would necessarily play by the rules, but that's the general rule.

7. Correct, and the '87 Packers "Killer B's" (as we called the replacements)
... played and partied like it was 1999 because they knew this was their only moment in the spotlight.

10. kind of true
loosely based on the Redskin strike team I believe.

Only "good" moment from whole mess was a funny SNL segment on the games.

9. packers
can all kiss my ass. I don't care if we are in a blue red or orange state. I live in Wisconsin and that don't mean we are all packer fans so lighten the fuck up.
