Truth-O-Meter Says Michael Moore corrrect: 400 Americans have more wealth than 1/2 of the rest
Edited on Fri Mar-11-11 05:38 PM by 1776Forever

The Truth-O-Meter Says:

Michael Moore on Saturday, March 5th, 2011 in a speech to protesters in Madison, Wisconsin

"Just 400 Americans -- 400 -- have more wealth than half of all Americans combined."

Right now, this afternoon, just 400 Americans -- 400 -- have more wealth than half of all Americans combined," Moore avowed to tens of thousands of protesters.

"Let me say that again. And please, someone in the mainstream media, just repeat this fact once; we’re not greedy, we’ll be happy to hear it just once.

"Four hundred obscenely wealthy individuals, 400 little Mubaraks -- most of whom benefited in some way from the multi-trillion-dollar taxpayer bailout of 2008 -- now have more cash, stock and property than the assets of 155 million Americans combined."

7. I find it bizarre that anyone would think this is sustainable.
The bottom 80% are picking at bones, the bottom 60% don't have a pot to piss in, and the situation for the bottom 40% would choke up Marie Antoinette they are so busted.

How in the world is an economy supposed to function with this level of disparity?

9. when I travel
I see the same stores everywhere and of course wal mart. I can't even find a local hardware store anymore. There could be millions of small businesses if these mega stores would fall.

10. So true! My little Ohio town used to be full of stores now only a few downtown survive. I was
thinking about how young people don't know what it is like to have a selection of places to shop accept in a mall and then it is only mostly clothing stores.
