Something called tsunami monitoring
:sarcasm:

I just saw the thing on ABC News about Japan's early warning systems being light years ahead of our systems and how our government can't be bothered to spend money on our warning systems. (Gee, what a fucking surprise).

1. America is under the protection of Jesus. That's why nothing bad ever happens here.

2. Don't be silly. Why waste that money when prayer is sovereign against natural disasters?

4. Not only can they not be bothered to spend money
the Republicans recently voted to reduce funding for Tsunami Monitoring.

Kind of like when that one asshole whined about "Volcano Monitoring" two days before an eruption.

I can't believe we are losing to these people.

5. Japan is significantly more prone to tsunami

It kinda makes sense.

I don't know that it has anything to do with "can't be bothered"

The worst tsunami in CONUS history killed something like a dozen people. Hawaii's systems are more substantial.

6. hey those things cost money that we don't have.
would you want to raise taxes or something to pay for it?

Here's a goody. The republiwhores and business want to do away with the department that lists bad products that might hurt or kill us due to it costing
too much to publish the book and there might be errors in it. Ain't life grand?
