Instead of freezing Federal employee wages |
|
...extending tax cuts for the rich, and trying to convince us we need to cut...
Why doesn't Obama explain that we have a monetary distribution problem? That we have the uber-wealthy and then the rest of us. That our country is NOT broke but monetarily out-of-whack.
Why the emphasis on cutting us by a Democratic Party President?

4. I was surprised there wasn't more democratic outrage over |
|
the federal wage freeze. Many democrats were not concerned about it. Some here even argued that federal employees have too many benefits and their pay is too high. WTF.
A lot of federal employees were, however, livid and thought it was a big slap at them, as if Obama was saying they really ARE the problem, rather than the tax cuts for the rich. My husband is a fed employee and he said his coworkers felt betrayed by Obama's freeze. I think the reaction would have been different if the rich weren't getting those tax cuts, as it would have seemed somewhat fair then.
As for the emphasis on cuts to salary, etc., instead of taxing the rich, maybe Obama really does think it's a bad idea to tax the rich and a great idea to freeze wages on the middle-class. Based on his actions, what else are we to think?

6. I was livid, too. I'm not a federal employee, but a state employee. |
|
And when I saw that I knew it was only a matter of time before his actions on the federal level would be imitated by the states.
And so? Look what's happening.

7. That's exactly how I felt too |

Why shouldn't I be insulted? I've had to put aside a good portion of my life for school, and then a good portion of my income in paying for school - so much so that I have never been able to buy a house, and I'm nearly 50. Then along comes the fed pay freeze, because after all, EVERYONE KNOWS that federal employees make too much money (even though I would make probably twice what I make in the private sector, if they had jobs for what I do in the private sector) so we have to cut back so that billionaires won't be forced to go without that extra caviar, and we can still keep blowing up people for no reason in the Middle East.
