Do not forget Wisconsin
Edited on Sat Mar-12-11 08:05 AM by Syrinx
The tragic events in Japan are horrific. And my heart goes out to the victims of the disaster there. As the magnitude and scope of the disaster seems to grow by the hour.

But we must not lose focus on the events at home.

Apparently, our domestic news media can only cover one story at a time.

Ted Turner would be rolling over in his grave, if he was, in fact, dead.

We cannot allow the story of the earthquake in Japan to suck all the oxygen out of the Wisconsin events, and kill the event. The happening.

There is still a righteous uprising going on in Wisconsin.

It's not over, just because it's being upstaged by a bigger "story."

Corporate America is still trying to drive a dagger into the heart of the American middle class. And they won't back off just because something bad happened in Japan.

Don't let this movement be killed or overshadowed by external events.

Peace and love and all I can do for Japan, but keep fighting for the American citizen. the American worker.

1. i'm out of town this weekend
and keeping up in a very spotty manner. i have not forgotten Wisconsin. all the snips i've seen or read from the corporate media are not discussing the protests. fox may be, but when they do it is in a very dismissive and insulting context.

GO WISCONSIN.

2. It is my expectation that as we rally in Madison we will pause to remember Japan...
This is a day for multi-tasking.

4. my heart is with the people of Japan AND the protesters in Wisconsin
I fear the protesters in Japan more closely affect my life, and my future - which is why corporate media is not showing it.

5. No, two.
CNN kept saying last night they were committed to covering the story in Libya. And that is the only rebellion they will cover, thank you.
THE REVOLUTION WILL NOT BE TELEVISED!

6. One of the benefits of the near media black out throughout the movement is that the movement goes on
Edited on Sat Mar-12-11 08:42 AM by myrna minx
in spite of the lack of broadcast news coverage - the movement is not fueled by coverage from the dinosaur news outlets, who's priorities are to protect their corporate masters. The energy of the movement all over the country from Wi, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania will not abate -it's only beginning. :patriot:

7. Remember
Remember remember the day Two Fifteen
Wisconsin protesters began to be seen.
They gave them a reason
that some would call treason
When a man named Scott Walker
killed middle class talkers.

8. Wisconsin will be considered the birthplace
of the re-emergence of the workers rights movement. We're in for a LONG battle and, I'm sure you know, it will not be contained just in Wisconsin. We're distracted but we're not forgetting. Personally, I'm kind of interested in this whole nuclear fallout thing if one of the reactors goes meltdown. California is in the line of fire and I'd like to know about it in advance so I can, I don't know, get plastered or something.

Fear not. We haven't forgotten about you. :hi:
