10. Why would they cover that old thing... It's so "last week"..
They are too busy showing the same footage they have shown since the quake..over and over and over, and of course it gives them another opportunity to dust off the footage of Dr Sanjay at the "shake lab"

and of course it would not be a weekend if we did not have "Crime Solving 101..Really Old Crimes" and "Steve Shivs Stan" and "Lockup, Lookout, Lockdown, Hoe-Down at Holman"..

It's not surprising to see corporate news exhibit such an amazing corporate slant, I suppose-- but it is galling.

27. Try some of the ME news stations, or maybe Russian/English TV
or the BBC?

Aside from the fact that our media is a propaganda machine for Big Business, it is the WEEKEND! What are you thinking, they all go home on the weekend, to recoup from the hard work of sitting behind their desks reading the memos.

Last night when I saw the news about Japan's Nuclear Plant, I turned on MSNBC and I got 'Lockup', then I tried CNN around midnight I think, and there was a repeat of the Piers Morgan show about Japan, but now old news already.

Then I went to RT (we actually get Russian/English TV on Time Warner) and they were covering the story live. I used Al Jazeera online also to get updates.

We don't have a news media, we have Corporate Advertising Propaganda Machine. And they don't work on weekends most of the time.

37. How do they explain that to themselves, I wonder?
Is it just one of that facts they refuse to acknowledge? Anyone who is paying attention at all would have to see that a truly enormous left wing demonstration gets less attention from corporate news outlets than a tiny Teabagger demonstration does. And they still go on about the "liberal media".

23. Lack of media coverage isn't neglect or shabby journalism - it's complicity.
Truthfully, it's something we need to address and deal with.

I honestly think the Republicans are unconcerned with the recalls because they are counting on nearly unlimited funding to run constant tv ads to hypnotize the population.

it's like a cover-up. i'm really shocked that around 200,000 people can rally in a capital city in this country and every fucking so called news outlet in this country is REFUSING to cover it. And that this is part of a month long battle?!?! How the hell is this not news?!?! :grr:

I'm emailing MSNBC to ask them why they are refusing to cover this. It's been planned all week! It's not like it's a spur of the moment gathering. You are so right this was a conscious decision by the media to NOT cover this. :grr:

This senator claims to be outraged that the protestors are supporting the 14.. Fox is doing aerial shots are they afraid to hit the ground and why do they always have the shots the other stations don't have in every situation they always get the coverage up close..

http://www.prwatch.org/news/2011/03/9944/live-reporting-wisconsin-protests

4:37 p.m. - The Wisconsin Department of Administration, at 3:00 p.m., estimates the crowd size to be 68,000. CMD's reporters think the number of protesters is somewhere between 100,000 - 250,000.

46. Very exciting to read the live reports from the rally!
3:50 p.m. - Mary Bottari reports: The crowd at today's rally is much bigger than it was 2 weeks ago when the numbers reached 125,000 plus making this is the largest labor protest in recent history.

4:15 p.m. - Steve Horn reporting:
250,000 protesters (Steve's estimate) -- people crowded on all four sides of the the Capitol. A true sea of people.
...

Quite an afterglow today...this surpassed all our expectations. It was monumental!

Other news sources are reporting "close to 100,000"..."over 80,000" BS!! And people were coming and going all day, too ! 100,000-250k is quite a swing and I believe the number was toward the upper end --never seen anything like it in Madison!
