Alternative energy is here today, we do not have to wait, let's get off coal, oil, & nuke addiction
http://www.stanford.edu/group/efmh/jacobson/Articles/I/JDEnPolicyPt1.pdf

the above site proves it, end of story.

So tired of the "But we aren't ready for alternatives" BS This is where we need to dump tons of money NOW! Get out of Afghanistan and Iraq tomorrow and we could pay for retrofits to plants, added benefit; millions of jobs. And quit giving the bulk of our countries wealth to the uber rich. The Goddamn Bush tax cuts were supposed to retire Damnit!

1. 1000 right wing radio stations blanket the country with fossil industry
and anti green propaganda and nuclear excuses to enable obstruction in congress.

fix that first and the GOP will fall apart.

7. Amen. Media matters.
Misinformed people are too scared to think strait. So some Big Brother gets to tell them what to think and do.

2. My last job, I worked for a company that made retrofits to cement plants
so they could burn alternative fuel instead of coal. The systems can cost a million plus dollars, but part of my job was to calculate the economic and environmental benefit they'd get if they substituted biomass, scrap tires or refuse-derived fuel for coal. They'd usually be turning a profit from the fuel cost savings in under a year, and would reduce their NOx and SO2 sometimes dramatically. Still, it was like pulling teeth to get these plants to cough up a penny.

8. Is here today in my home and in my car.
And people see the car and get that it is possible. That I can drive 60 miles every day for $1.50 in electricity and that I generate 1.5 times that much on average every day of the year with solar panels. And the cost of the panels and car is under $35,000. The batteries lasting perhaps 10-20 years (LiFe), the solar panels guaranteed to 25, and the car just needing tires now and then.

This is why the electric car was murdered, the viable ev would kill the energy monopoly. Try driving one and you will see.
