25. We're gonna do it without media assistance
We're not going to have big money behind us.
We're not going to have anyone encouraging us.
We're going to have to do it by ourselves, in the dark, with what we have.

Sad that it takes a hostile government who legislates against the common welfare to motivate people, but lets hope this is just the 1st act of the seachange that's going to drive these corporate puppets from our government.

21. YEs it was part of the victory lap all of the medai (RW too) did for Walker
Everything I saw and heard was an attempt top cement the story (like the NPR "sting") so that anyone who dares say anything different is ...you know... different.

You don't want to be different do you? Some people say that being different is icky.

26. The Revolution will not be televised! It was a GRAND DAY!!!
And we welcomed back home the WI 14!!!!!!!

This made my 5th day of protesting and by 1:30 pm it was getting very hard to move around on the State St corner of Capitol Square, By 2:30 you just couldn't move, and you hoped you had correctly remembered how to glue on that Texas catheter.

I'd say we went well past 75K, today, but I was in the thick of it and it was really only possible to estimate by comparisons to other crowds.
Never noticed another DUer today. But we were but a drop in the ocean there in Madison.

I couldn't believe how packed it was when we were trying to walk around before the 3:00 rally. EVERYPLACE - the sidewalk next to the Capitol, the sidewalks and the streets, and the poor lawn. We had been there since 9:30 or so, but you just don't realize how the entire square just keeps filling and filling and filling... all of a sudden you look around and WOW, there are a lot of people here! :grouphug:

73. Awesome
Just got my copy of "Inside Job" and one copy should be in every mailbox. It puts the financial rape of our country (and other nations, Iceland in some heartbreaking detail) in an easy to understand form.

It is breathtaking when seen together - and a few of the lead players in creating this fraud and theft, and they got 100s of millions for it, are the people Obama picked for his financial team. All this massive fraud, wrapping up toxic mortgages with car loans and credit card debt into CDOs (collaterilized debt obligations and somehow in cahoots with the rating agencies got them rated AAA - which is a requirement for....public pension plans. so they gobbled them up and we know the rest. Fraud pure and simple - yet let alone go to jail, CEOs and other key players bailed out with obscene amounts of money - while we got tapped to bail out Wall St.

Add this with the defense spending waste and fraud - before all the money vanished without a trace in the Iraq invasion, Rummy, on 9/10/01 (curious timing at the very least) had a presser where he revealed there was, as I recall, about 2 trillion dollars missing.

Trillions gone due to waste, fraud, likely theft, and stupid wars to begin with.

And yet our financial mess is the fault of teachers, public workers and their pensions, and Acorn - if we're to believe the public discourse. Amazing.

The dots are not that hard to connect but don't expect to see detailed breakdowns of all this even on MSNBC. It's up to citizens to take the time to really know what's what. Tea party people should be angry, their anger is just mostly misguided.

77. I have nothing against the Japanese.......
They have their "plate" MORE than full at the moment. But I keep seeing these images from Madison and Michigan and elsewheres and I keep thinking of a parallel between the wealthy of our nation and the Japanese war machine of WWII. There's that epochal moment of foresight voiced by Admiral Yamamoto when his staff jubillantly announced that the attack on Pearl Harbor had been successful. Yamamoto is recorded as having said he feared what had really happened was that they had awakend a sleeping giant. I can only HOPE that such a thought is gnawing at the innards of those attacking us to establish a corporatocracy. And I further hope their fears will come to be realized before and during the next federal election cycle. :grr:

81. Make that 200,000!
Looked and felt like between 200 and 250k, and those who attended both the Feb 26th event, which was also reported to have 100k, AND yesterday's, say yesterday's was much bigger!

92. I lied on Langdon Avenue for several years -
1974 to 1978.

If jobs that paid well were there in Madison, I would never have left.

94. Well then we may have crossed paths.
I was living downtown then, too. That was a good time to be here. I haven't liked it as much for awhile. Now, it seems good again! :toast:

88. This is precisely why I believe the bubble is going to burst.

The reality does not match the ideology. Far fewer people believe the hype and truly care about it than advertised. The more the media tries to sweep this under the rug, the bigger the implosion will be.
