I am sad...
What has happened in Japan makes me really sad. I cannot imagine what those poor people are going through. To have everything you've ever known completely destroyed. Your aunt and uncle's house across town; your friends games in the park; the nursing home you volunteered taken away, along with its residents; that special place you always enjoyed going to read a book or just sit and think; that special cafe where you first met your lover.

It's a profound sadness that touches the soul.

2. It hurts every time to see so many lose everything, or close to it.

4. My wife is Japanese and her family is OK but...
her brother's neighbor's daughter was visiting Sendai for a wedding.

They haven't heard anything about her since the earthquake.

I just can't imagine what that must be like.

6. Northern parts which were tsunami'd are having freezing temps also. It is really sad
to have to stumble across acres of everything jumbled up, with all those memories having no basis in anything solid beyond the debris. Wondering where everyone is, if they are alive and just not able to communicate, or caught somewhere, or injured, or dead.
