Massive Nuclear Industry PR Campaign Underway
Edited on Sat Mar-12-11 11:17 PM by JCMach1
Just saw Jay Lehr from the Heartland Institute brought in as a 'supposedly' independent expert on CNN (may have been CNNi, rather than standard CNN).

"100% confident that the meltdown will be contained..." and "The radiation is no threat..."

Some background on the group and this tool:

He is also a global warming denier... http://www.heartland.org/policybot/results/15726/National_Geographic_Promotes_Global_Warming_Myths.html

2. Has radiation escaped? If so, the no threat is bullshit - like saying cigarettes don't
cause cancer, or baking in the sun doesn't damage your skin. We. Are. Not. Idiots. Uneducated in nuclear technology, yes, idiots, no.

5. Exactly, doesn't mean this is Chernobyl... However, the situation is
quite serious.

Denial and spin does no one any good here.

17. Where did you get that idea from?
Chernobyl Reactor #4 - 1000 MWe
Fukushima Reactor #1 - 480 MWe

Entire Chernobyl Nuclear Plant.
4 reactors - 4000 MWe total

Entire Fukushima Nuclear Plant
6 reactors - 4700 MWe total.

So where did you get this 100x the power of Chernobyl nonsense from?

16. Where they at?
Where's all the usual corporate nuclear shills?

they are usually on here in a heartbeat, defending the indefensible

Hey shills, let's put up some more 8.0 quake resistant nuclear power plants and wait for that 8.9 quake

the foremost experts on earthquake preparedness are OUT OF CONTROL and headed for possible meltdown of a plant with 100 times the capacity of Chernobyl

that's enough fallout to make all the islands of Japan uninhabitable for generations

what's the status of all the nuclear plants on the west coast fault lines?

where are the shills?

..... crickets
