1. The Russians don't like the Japanese, so they broadcast it very quickly.

2. per BBC live blog...
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-12307698
0448: No change has been detected in radiation levels in the Russian far east, which borders Japan, the country's top health inspector, Gennady Onishchenko, tells Interfax news agency. The situation is being monitored around the clock, with experts who tracked the Chernobyl disaster on stand-by if the situation deteriorates.

be able to predict, etc etc etc. I'm thinking the wind is blowing out to sea so good news for them, so far.

10. So far
As long as reactor containment isn't breached, any radiation released will be fairly minimal.

14. I think it goes back to the Russo-Japanese war
The Russians thought they were superior and the Japanese sent them back with their tails between their legs.

4. I got a friend with connected connections on this matter (no kidding)
And he says the Russians associated with the Chernnobyl clean up and aftermath are saying that the Japanese have dodged the bullet.

take this with an appropriate grain of salt.

I know nothing.

he, however, does.

12. These are definitely partial meltdowns.
These reactors are partially melted for cooling with seawater to become an option. They have to be leaking cesium and iodine like a sieve right now.

15. Well according to NHK the partial meltdown
on one, is now official...

If they get a spike at the Kurilles and the Japanese have not acknowledged that... the Russians will scream it.

Why for once watching RT TV is better than CNN

22. bias aside they have more real news
the US corp media is a joke, even Hillary Clinton admitted it, unless you're worried about charlie Sheen, random kidnappings and sports events. When did movies and the lotto become mainstream hard news? What a big joke.

I was online last night and Aljazeera and RT had quicker and more comprehensive coverage of the Japan situation than the Us corps

17. No report indicates the reactor melted.
The FUEL inside the reactor melted but reactor containment is still solid. If it wasn't the radiation level around the plant would be lethal in a matter of hours. Something like 20,000 to 50,000 micro Silverts.

Metling fuel inside a sealed reactor pressure vessel isn't a massive release of material. It means the reactor is a total loss but is the RPV holds it will hold the partially melted fuel inside it.
