Isn't it interesting that Sunday news shows are sponsored by defense companies
but sitcoms have snack food and Viagra commercials.

I'm watching MTP on MSNBC, and they mentioned during the opening theme that it's "brought to us" by the people at Boeing and McDonnell Douglas. There aren't any spots during the show featuring cruise missiles blowing up cities or fighter jets streaking past the camera, but I know there's a good reason for the low image.

Only FCC regulation requires (so far) that they point out who pays for the anchor's line of questioning, but it's clearly something they mumble through quickly at the onset of programming. One has to ask the ten million dollar question: Why would Boeing need to spend money on television advertising? No one watching is going to shop a 737.

There's one big reason America needs at least one public news outlet that doesn't require the filthy lucre that streams from corporate interest to keep us informed.

3. Indeed.
It's what they don't cover and what guests that don't have on that makes these shows unwatchable. As far as I can tell, they only want to have the Republican viewpoint discussed. I gave up on the Sunday talkies 15 years ago. Don't think I've missed anything.

5. It's about attracting investors
The investing class tends to watch such shows, so it's a ploy to sell them stock.

6. It is mainly about ensuring the right message
With investment secondary.
The news is all coporate propaganda because that's who pays for it.

7. Today's Reliable Sources had NO mention of Wisconsin, but, Rove's anti-union ads made an appearance
so, apparently, that fascist ad full of lies was cleared for acceptance.... 200,000 protestors in Wisconsin....ehhhh....a nonstory that didn't deserve coverage.
