Has anyone notice....
Over the entire weekend that no media has paid any attention to the crisis in Wisconsin and the possibility of a complete republican takeover of this country.

I'm in Georgia...and i've watched each network here each day to see if the media is giving credit time to the problems in WI. Local...CNN...MSMBC...CNBC...all a complete shutdown.

Question to all DU"ERS here? I know that what has happen to Japan is tragic..BUT. iF what is going on in WI. can be just as tragic to our nation even more to our very future if the republicans buys their way into our total destruction. It seems that they want a war...NOT BETWEEN STATES....BUT BETWEEN THE RICH AND THE NON-RICH.

If you can't understand this POST...."YOU'D BETTER THINK ABOUT IT...AND THINK HARD ABOUT IT"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1. I watched a great deal of CNN yesterday and this morning. I saw exactly one...
Edited on Sun Mar-13-11 07:30 PM by Pacifist Patriot
side bar text mention of "thousands gather in Madison, including farmers." No bobble head actually said anything about it. All I saw was that one headline followed by two more down the left hand side of the screen (Libya and something else)with a graphic of Japan on the right side. Now it's possible they gave it more attention than that, but if so, I didn't see it.

Edited to add: Japan is a huge story and worthy of coverage, but when you start looping footage for the tenth time in two hours and your expert is being interviewed with the same questions you asked the guy last hour, it's time to turn your attention to the fact that other things are indeed happening in this world.

You see the same over and over on all stations. Its correct to cover Japan...but don't forget whats going on here. Same as the PRESS CONFERENCE OBAMA HAD, NOTHING..NOTHING..NOTHING...We are in trouble when everything and everyone is bought off. Where do we go from here?????????????????

4. Honestly there is no other explanation.
This is an editorial decision (business directive?) to exclude a newsworthy story. How is that not a form of censorship?

7. It's like there is a directive that comes down on what not to cover. I used to think
it was just me, but now I see more and more evidence of what seems to me a very purposeful lack of coverage in lockstep.

8. My husband's family used to be in the newspaper business.
You're darned right there are people who control what news is and is not made available for public consumption.

24. If it was only restricted to
the Wisconsin issue alone. It is across the spectrum of problems and potential solutions.

There will be no solutions considered worthwhile unless they are corporate solutions. What we are seeing right now in Wisconsin is the implementation of corporate solutions to problems that didn't even exist.

15. It sure is. And Fox News will tell everyone how the media is controlled by a bunch
of liberals. I think many Americans have absolutely no idea WTF is going on with many things.

22. And Americans will plod along like a herd of sheep misinformed. I often wonder
where we will be in ten years or so. I had a guy the other day tell me they were all rioting in WI, like they had smashed up Madison. Talk about misinformed.

13. We have so much purposeful information black-outs and I do question if many Americans
get what is occurring ... suppression of information and providing disinformation to keep the masses in the dark.

16. Why yes, it is a class war and the tactics are always
divide and split up groups so none are effective or have any real power. We have to build a movement and links to one another, big enough to counter the corporate press. And yes I am agitating to change this system that has been ripping us off for far to long.

18. NBC mentioned it this morning on their news show.
I also heard about it on NPR. It didn't get anywhere near the attention of the earthquake, but I don't expect it to.

23. Since MSNBC thinks "Lockup" shows are more important, DU has been my main source on WI.
Why wasn't C-Span there? They could have covered Saturday's events at least.
