Why is DU far ahead of CNN?
Aren't they the news agency?

1. DU is usually the best (and fastest) source of news.
I don't know how - I guess being part of a collective of very well-informed news junkies helps.

2. possibly hundreds of people gathering information and posting it?
As it is here? DU is better than a news agency.

4. CNN is a corporate entity.
They have to filter and package all their news in nice little sound-bites.

On here, we get more leeway to really opine, and aren't limited to 15-minute time-slots.

10. They are also wrong. They said new explosion was at #1. It wasn't.
That was the one yesterday.

The new one was at #3.

They suck as a news organization.

I was watching AL Jazzeera and was amazed at how professional they seem compared to CNN et al.

13. No, CNN said smoke from #1, explosion at #3.
They are just taking this from NHK, so it's not rocket science.

14. Thanks to the Internet we read news from around the world constantly -
CNN follows the US corporate script and only reports what the rich folks want to hear.

15. DU is made up of actual people who care about honesty and the common man...
And CNN is a propagandist organization that calls itself a news agency.

17. DU doesn't have to run news stories by corporate masters for approval
before reporting/posting. Plus numerous people combing the internets at all hours and real people delivering eyewitness accounts from around the world.

DU- the first place I check for breaking news, updates and information.
