Is The Republican Party Becoming Fascist?
Edited on Sun Mar-13-11 10:46 PM by TxVietVet

Republicans have been busy since they took power in January. Busy alienating every single group of people they can think of, except themselves. The United States is being transformed into a fascist state before our eyes and now is the time we must fight back and turn this evil tide.

Instead of focusing on jobs and the economy like they were elected to do, Republicans have used the excuse of budget crises whether real or not, to take rights away from us. In the 1920′s and 1930′s, fascists in Europe used economic crises to gain power and that is exactly what Republicans are doing now. Using the recession as an excuse to create a police state. Let’s examine how Republicans are frighteningly similar to fascists.

Fascism is the ultimate manifestation of social change and moral revolution, and glorifies nationalism. Sound familiar? It should. Republicans are all about culture wars and preach morality and how great America is. Fascists, like Republicans today, reject democracy and liberalism. Many Republicans called for violently overthrowing the government if the 2010 midterm elections didn’t go their way and have viciously attacked liberalism. Fascists also reject internationalism and pacifism and support militarism and war. Republicans have been calling for the United States to pull out of the United Nations since the 1950′s and have since 2001, been the party of war as evidenced by the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and the calls to attack Iran, North Korea, and most recently Libya. Fascists also promote heroism, vitalism and violence. Ever notice how Republicans promote themselves by chopping wood or firing guns or some other “manly” activity? They are trying to prove how tough they are. And the examples of violence are aplenty. Just look at the shooting in Arizona and the calls to shoot liberals in the forehead and the threats of “second amendment remedies” among many others. Republicans have ALL of these traits. Now let’s examine how fascists and Republicans agree on the issues.

4. Becoming?
It is part of the bedrock of their ideology.

Are they becoming more blatant about it? I would say yes. Much like people who are racist, when they get around people they are comfortable with their true nature comes up to the surface.

7. Remember this article and give it to your conservanazi "friends".
Now, if I show this to a conservanazi, he'd throw it away without reading two sentences. Why? They are so f*cking brainwashed it's almost pitiful.

Now, I've been calling them conservanazis for years. Because that's what they are. conservative nazis.

Want to join the club. Spread this article around.

8. They are the anti-Party
There won't be any solutions coming from these people to fix the growing structural problems we face. It's only concern is to maintain the power they have now. Their radicalism is pretty much exposed and understood now. They will be focusing on what they need to do to limit future elections.

9. Thank you!
I have have been saying this for a while now and you described it much better than I could. The Republicans are moving us towards a Fascist state and the Left needs to wake up and quit trying to compromise with them. You can't comprise with fanatics and that is what the Republicans are. You might get flamed for saying what you did, but I agree with you 100%.

10. Since they decided Ike was a Communist.
The change was enacted by Nixon and reached higher with Reagan and the Bush team. The, we can play the same game, Democrats haven't slowed it down. Probably in the works since the Civil War.

13. Fascists do not typically relinquish their power upon losing elections, like in 2006 and 2008.
Also, you claim that "Republicans seek to make homosexuality illegal". Can you name even a single Republican congressman or senator who has suggested this? Or even a Republican state legislator?

And claiming that Republicans are fascists because they are both "in favor of family values" is just silly.

14. Much more so since the right wing PR groups co-opted and ginned up the Tea Party movement.
Republicans used to care a bit more about facts on the ground.

Presented with the hard science, they sometimes protected the environment.

But once they got to appoint their own president, all bets were off.

21. Becoming? Neo-liberals are fascists too.
To admit that neo-liberals have co-opted the Democratic Party and that they are fascists that have ideology and tactics repugnant to the New Deal Democrats is a start in recognizing what is necessary to be a humane much less thriving or "beacon of light" society in the future.

I will be dead before this occurs because I am not that young nor healthy now.
