Polls mean nothing until the Republican have a named challenger.
And I think people need to remember this and not fret. As of right now the President is running for re-election but against no clear opponent, or clear set of opposing ideas.

I'll be honest people, I think the President is favored to win. But we gotta fight hard, heavy, give what we can in terms of time and money, and NEVER give an inch.

1. Agreed, and as Wisconsin's governor has shown, much to be lost if we don't.
I don't know how many congressional seats are up in 2012, nor how many governorships as well. But everything most be contested to keep the right wing corporatists out of power.

2. All House seats are up, and a majority of the Senate seats up are held by Democrats,
In the Senate it does not seem yet that we are favored to maintain our majority, or that at least we will have to fight to keep it and if we do it'll be pretty close or what it is now.

I'm kind of happy about this whole national fight against unions. It started in Wisconsin, now it's in Ohio, Indianna, etc. They are really just galvanizing the very base that was turning against the President.

4. Repubs have an uphill fight, but not impossible.

Remember that there will be a lot more elections than just the Presidency. We can get back the House. And should.

What we cannot do, and hope to do well, is to TEAR DOWN the President. We need to SUPPORT him.

We must not tear down democratic challengers in primaries, and make them unelectable in the main election.

We have to work together, or we will fall together.
