The Republican party has been very effective with the use of language in getting their message out. One glaring example is the use of the word Democrat. They have turned it into a pejorative term through the use of Democrat instead of democratic. The Democrat Senator from California instead of the Democratic Senator from Cal. It has a harsher sound and has been consistently used by the republicans for years. Subtle but there. It would be nice for our side to start to use the same tactic. The Republic Senator from Arizona. The Republic budget proposal. Turn the word Republic into a pejorative term. The Republic plan for America will not work!

I loathe all modifications on the word 'Republican'. And I've seen them all: pukes, pugs, 'licans, rethugs, repugs, blah blah. They sound childish and stupid.

But then, I hate all cutesy abbreviations, like 'puter' for computer and 'prolly' for probably. It makes it seem like the writer can't quite take the binky out of their mouth or something.
