In general, this is one of the things we do. Some people seek out stories of human perfidity, and then point and loudly wail "what the hell is wrong with people?" (or variations thereof).

There are at least a dozen such threads in GD every day.

It seems to be human nature. We look at worse people so we can feel good about ourselves. Particularly in groups. We want to feel good about our gang. It's what motivates us to risk getting the stuffing knocked out of ourselves in the next Jets-Sharks rumble.
