(Washburn/Green Bay) the Wisconsin Triumvirate and four state legislators plan to head to the safety of Washington, DC for a $1,000 per person fundraising party on March 16, 2011. The fundraiser will be held at the headquarters of Barbour Griffith & Rogers LLC. The lobbying firm was founded in part by Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour and part of their touted expertise is in "crisis management." According to the BGR Group website: "With BGR at your side, you have a powerhouse partner in global government, commerce and media. BGR provides proven success in lobbying, crisis management and media relations."

One of BGR's major clients has been Milwaukee-based WE Energies which has spent more than $300,000 in lobbying via BGR. WE Energies executives also donated more than $10,000 to the Walker campaign (worth noting: WE Energies executives additionally donated more than $20,000 to the Gubernatorial campaign of Democrat Tom Barrett. See this nifty scatterplot

Of course, Governor Walker, the Fitzgeralds, and the Wisconsin legislators won't be alone in Washington, D.C. as a "Rally with Wisconsin" demonstration is being organized for outside of the building starting at 5 p.m.

1. So they got their 20 pieces of silver.
It likely changes very little and probably changes NOTHING.

The Republicans have OFFENDED the sensibilities of average Wisconsinites. THEY will NOT forget.

Wisconsinites are reasonable, practical even, but we have a DREAM of making the future better than today. Walker and the Fitzgeralds are 180 degrees apart from THE PEOPLE.

I remember when THE PARTY ended in St. Petersburg, if I'm lucky I'll live to see it end in Madison!

When this was first posted on LBN the other day, I mused that there should be a LOT of DC unions/progressives that might want to know about and have a say about this little get together.

Hopefully, we won't be as polite as we've been, now that the bill has been signed and they're collecting their spoils.

5. Make sure to take high resolution digital images of every person that attends.
We need a website to keep track of these people.
