Every nuke detonated since 1945
This clip starts out slowly with the first atomic bomb testing in 1945, but accelerates soon after Russia begins post-war testing. Turn your speakers up before the cold war years to hear a virtual symphony of mutual assured destruction as each test has it's own unique tone. One month equals one second:

By the 3:00 mark I was wondering why we don't all glow a pale green, then I felt the sense of remorse I get when I spend a lot on something foolish and realize I'll never see that money again. Considering the stupid things we've done to our planet, modern cancer rates are little surprise.

2. and people think China is a threat....
... only 45 nukes detonated. Bleh, it looks like those Frenchies are the ones we need to watch out for. :sarcasm:

That was interesting to watch. It would also be interesting to watch a more detailed breakdown between Plutonium, Uranium and Hydrogen bombs.

4. I also noted the complete inactivity in the US beginning on January 1993
Let me think... what happened in that month?

8. good point, I wonder if it started again around january 2001
I may need to watch it again and try to take note of times when (D) v (R) are in office

I couldn't help but notice that Eisenhower went pretty nuts with it but I was assuming most of that was H bomb experimentation.

3. something that is never mentioned
It is not just thyroid cancer but there are other thyroid conditions that should be considered. Many people I know have Hashimnotos and several have had to have thyroids removed. I find that odd.

I wish I could remember the author and title of a book about the true cost of the Cold War. The author proposed that deaths from the Cold War are greater than those of WWII.
