...but Doctors Without Borders/MSF is also working in Japan. My wife and I give big bucks to both organizations because they have a long-term record of effectiveness and good models of fully utilizing contributions.

When I donate, I want to make absolutely certain that my limited funds go where I want them to go. So, I'm waiting until it's much clearer. Not to the Red Cross, though. I want a direct Japanese organization with a clear plan.
