2. Those counts are still typical of normal background radiation.
I'm wondering what the counts are nearer this reactor.

5. I heard that, and it's very alarming. However, the counter in Tokyo is
just showing normal background levels, so it's really irrelevant. I guess I don't see the point, especially when the readings are not interpreted in any way. It's not really a helpful thing.

6. It is interpreted as meaning there was a leak
If there is another explosion, not unlikely, more radioactive material can be released, so it's all about watching those levels now.

The 10,000 led to the decision to have non-essential people leave the nuke plant.

Wouldn't you be concerned to be 200 miles south of a major nuke incident?
