Walker, Rove and the Kochs must be pretty happy about their 'luck' right now.

Everyone is watching the tube for Japan and being fed this horseshit.

3. Apparently the Koch brothers had that ad in the can, soon as
Wisconsin Rethugs took their vote they were airing it.

Touting a drug we're already hooked on as if we have a choice (which we do not).

5. Completely dishonest commerical...
...however, and perhaps I am completely wrong, I do have to say that Richard Trumka sort of does look like the stereotypical "union boss" bogeyman. He kind of looks like a blue collar tough guy and I am pretty sure the Republicans are seizing on this and will feature him in countless commercials.

Your right too. I am in the Northern VA market and was surprised to see tons of anti-union stuff running on various cable channels. I think the union busters are seeing what is happening in Wisconsin and elsewhere and are seriously spooked. They miscalculated and did not count on the people rising up and supporting public workers.

11. you can't boycott ad supported media
bc we aren't the customer.

It is a very weak attack ad. Makes the Unions case for them:

Wanna make 42% more? Want the ear of lawmakers and Presidents? Join a Union.

13. IF their advertisers think people aren't watching, they'll take their money and go elsewhere.
Of course we can boycott ad supported media. Those ads are there so people will se e'm. No people? No point in paying for the ads.

16. I'm not saying people should watch CNN (or any other MSM news)
and I would leave this alone but it comes up all the time -- the business of TV is to sell audiences to advertisers. The advertiser is the customer. We can all tune elsewhere but that is not a boycott. Chickens can't boycott KFC and free audience members can't boycott ad supported MSM.

They will not back down. This is going to be something, the tragedy in Japan notwithstanding.

10. How come the right is putting out the kind of ads the left should have put out about corporations...
Years ago? Seriously. The left in the USA just allows itself to get trampled on. Once again we're seeing massive hypocrisy from the right. They're taking all the evil shit they do and make it look like it's the LEFT doing it. Just like how they had people thinking Kerry was a deserter and Bush was a war hero.

15. they reject position ads -- won't air them at any price
happens all the time. The MSM is not public. It is media created by private companies on behalf of themselves and their sponsors. They can and do deny ads when they go against the general BS bubble they have created.

Fox rejected an ad for the Superbowl which had "John 3:16" written on a players back. "The network reportedly rejected the spot because it advanced specific beliefs."

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/blogs/live-feed/fox-rejects-john-316-super-96401

NBC rejected a PETA ad at Thanksgiving and an anti-choice ad for the Superbowl in 2009. NBC also rejected an ad thanking the troops in Iraq. MSNBC rejected an ad from MoveOn.org calling for a boycott of Target. NBC explained that the ad "violates its advertising policy by directly attacking an individual business."

There are hundreds of other examples -- that's why TV is a dead medium. In the modern fast paced marketplace of truth and ideas, TV clings to the 1930s model of one-to-many, filter and control.
