Argentine Judge Dismisses Charges Against US In Plane Case

BUENOS AIRES (Dow Jones)--A federal judge dismissed charges against the U.S. government related to the controversial seizure last month of U.S. military property from a C-17 transport plane.

Judge Marcelo Aguinsky said in a ruling Thursday the U.S. did not try to hide anything or bring unauthorized items into the country.

"The matter investigated does not constitute a crime," Aguinsky said in a 17-page ruling.

The decision comes almost a month after relations between the countries deteriorated after allegations that the U.S. tried to smuggle undeclared firearms, surveillance equipment and "various doses of morphine" ...
