1. Please kick for others who may be waiting for coverage
I know Japan is important, and I've been glued to that coverage, but this deserves a little attention too.

3. No, darn it.
I guess I tuned in late. I'm also trying to do two things at once and am a little distracted. What did they say?

7. they were standing with the govt. workers because
they know they'll be next. Most dairy farmers work through coops and depend on collective bargaining as well. I don't know much about how this works, but it sounds like they have a lot in common with the state workers & teachers. In their community, one-third of the teachers were laid off. Republicans in rural areas never saw this coming, and it's being talked about everywhere. Lots of them are rethinking their politics.

Those two guys were GOOD. They were articulate, relaxed, and came across really well on camera -- they should be on all the news programs!

And nice on the eyes. ;)

The interview will be posted on Ed's website probably tomorrow, http://ed.msnbc.msn.com/

I realize Japan is weighing on everyone's minds right now, and rightly so, but i'm so glad Ed covered Wisconsin and talked to those guys. I needed to hear that and feel some of that fighting spirit. :hi:

5. Ed needs to stop bashing Obama. The Wisconsin Dem-14 said......
that President Obama was supportive and that they were glad that Obama did NOT go to Wisconsin!

It's a bottom-up revolution - it was a people's protest - and they did well!

6. Agreed.
I wonder if the results of the last election are because Ed encourage people not to vote.

I wonder if he is a RWer in left-wing clothes.

8. Obama should be able to handle this with an executive order
Collective bargaining is guaranteed by the ILO (International Labor Organization), a UN agency, and is a part of the labor provisions of NAFTA. We happen to be cosigners of both of those.

Could not Obama issue an executive order commanding the offending states to abide by the UN charter and NAFTA?

We occasionally hear US officials complaining about how other nations treat their workers but we can't even abide by the treaties we've signed!
