Repub Governor and 2012 Presidential hopeful Mitch Daniels asking for Federal funds
to pay for 75% of the damage caused by the snow and ice storms in Indiana last month.

Gosh, I'm trying to remember the word that would accurately describe this. :eyes:

"INDIANAPOLIS -- Gov. Mitch Daniels on Monday asked the federal government to provide public assistance to 39 counties hit by last month's snow and ice storms.

If approved, state and local governments and certain nonprofit organizations would be eligible to apply for federal assistance to pay 75 percent of the approved cost of debris removal, emergency services related to the disaster and repairing or replacing damaged public facilities, such as roads, buildings and utilities.

The counties included in the request are Benton, Boone, Brown, Carroll, Cass, Clay, Clinton, Decatur, Delaware, Fayette, Fountain, Franklin, Grant, Greene, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Henry, Jay, Madison, Marion, Monroe, Montgomery, Morgan, Owen, Parke, Putnam, Randolph, Ripley, Rush, Shelby, Starke, Sullivan, Tipton, Union, Vermillion, Vigo, Warren and Wayne.

The request covers damage sustained during snow and ice storms from Jan. 31 to Feb. 4."

3. And just how did the federal govt. come up with those funds?

The Publicans bitch and moan about a socialist President, and about paying their fair share of taxes, but when they need help to save their own asses they sure aren't afraid to ask for some of that socialist money.

5. Mitch loves to brag about how he hasn't raised taxes in Indiana and has balanced the state's budget.
If anybody gave a damn enough to look a bit deeper, they would discover how much this one lies. Instead, several states are raising him up as a shining example of how they should be run too.

The selling of Indiana in bits and pieces to foreign countries has been his number one priority.

Anyway; as a Hoosier, I would like to thank all you kind folks for chipping in, so that Mitch doesn't have to raise taxes here. :hi:

6. Welfare >> Oh my..
what a hypocrite.. Has he not heard of a "rainy-day" fund..or a safety net for emergencies?

Perhaps the Koch brothers or Karl Rove's little band of thieves can wrote him a check..or at least send some new snow shovels :)
