I'll sweetly say that it's a conservative website/blog, and someone has posted a video of some teachers with students in the rotunda of the Capitol. Something tells me that the videographer and the viewers have missed the point of the lesson. Anyway, my absolute favorite comment on the video is:

There should be a law against exploiting kids like this! Keep politics out of the schools and away from the kids. Any one that does this are child abusers.

So do I understand this correctly? They're crushing unions, without which we would not have child labor laws, yet they want a law to prevent teachers from educating about the exercise of free speech and petitioning their legislators?

Oh, p.s. to seeker9 "any one" (anyone) is singular.

1. The problem lies in the ignorance of those making the judgment
They do not know that without the unions, child labor would be common nor do they now what should and shouldn't be taught in school.

These are the people that are easily persuaded by the FOXBOX or any other from or propaganda put in front of their noses.

8. Actually, I've also heard a lot of people who acknowledge what unions have done,
Edited on Tue Mar-15-11 10:35 AM by NYC Liberal
but their thinking is, "Well we got the laws passed. Child labor is gone, we have a minimum wage, workplace safety laws, etc. so why do we need unions now?"

They don't understand the need for constant, continued oversight and that companies will go right back to their old ways given even the slightest opportunity (and they have proven this).

3. They don't want the kids to be smarter than they are.
