American Exceptionalism: Cantor To Japan: NO HELP FROM US.
Eric Cantor Defends Foreign Aid Cuts In Aftermath Of Japan Earthquake, Tsunami

"All of us need to be tempered by the fact that we've got to stop spending money we don't have," Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) told reporters at his weekly press briefing. "Essentially, what you are saying is to go borrow money from the Japanese so we can spend it there to help the Japanese."

President Barack Obama said Monday that the United States "will continue offer any assistance we can" to Japan as it deals with aftermath of the earthquake and tsunami. But the majority leader did not back down from the House GOP's proposed budget cuts for programs that respond to natural disasters both at home and abroad. H.R. 1, which the House passed in February, would cut the U.S. Agency for International Development budget by about $121 million, or roughly 8.7 percent.

21. Here's a quarter. Go buy a clue.
We're still going to borrow from the Japanese. We're just not going to send any help.

If you think the don't tax and deficit spend like drunken sailers on shore leave GOP is gonna stop spending on their pet projects to pump their feelings of John Wayneness, then you are delusional.

I don't mean to snark, but please examine every assumption that underlies anything that the lying GOP says.

11. Cantor is an imbecile. Japan will sell dollar-denominated assets (T-Bills, etc.) ....
Edited on Tue Mar-15-11 08:46 AM by TahitiNut
... to fund their recovery. Such a sale both drives down the dollar and drives up interest rates on the debt. So, Cantor carries water for the billionheirheads who'd rather LOAN money (they don't pay in taxes) to the US and BENEFIT from the debt than hire anyone to produce needed goods and services. The sad fact of the matter is that it takes fewer IQ points to play paper chase bubbles than actually engage in enterprise. E.g. mortgage derivatives instead of widget production.
