They are truly amazing.

2. Rescued Dog Becomes Search & Rescue Dog In Japan

Pearl was a homeless dog rescued from a shelter who has become part of a search and rescue team deployed to Japan through the National Disaster Search Dog Foundation. She has previously worked in Haiti to locate survivors who could not have been found by humans, and now she is helping with the vital search and rescue mission in Japan.

A book about Pearl has been created to help raise money to sponsor the training of new search dogs through the National Disaster Search Dog Foundation in Ojai, California. A New Job for Pearl was written by Allyn Lee and illustrated by second graders at Rancho Romero school last year. 100% of proceeds from the sale of the book go toward training a new search & rescue dog.
