Iowa Considers Criminalizing Undercover Videos of Farm Animal Abuse, and More ...
According to Democracy Now!, Iowa lawmakers are considering a bill that would prohibit animal rights activists from recording undercover videos of farm animals being abused. The bill, which has garnered support from the state's agricultural industry, would impose fines and jail time on anyone who seeks employment in an agricultural position in order to capture the footage. Undercover videos in recent years have led to numerous plant closures and meat recalls after revelations of mistreatment of cows, pigs, and other farm animals.

1. Republicon occultism
Edited on Tue Mar-15-11 01:34 PM by SpiralHawk
Occultism is the main republicon thing.

They want to hide their crimes from decent honest people.

So, Republicons go occult. over and over and over. They go occult. Like cockroaches skankily scurrying away from the light of day.

2. What about eggs? Remember last year we poisoned America with eggs
Are eggs considered animals? I could call my rep and ask him, but he may be done for the year trying to figure that one out.

even more vulnerable and unprotected than they are now.

A horrible idea!!

8. If more people saw how their meat got from the farm to the table...
Edited on Tue Mar-15-11 03:53 PM by RufusTFirefly
... they wouldn't eat meat. At least not the kind "manufactured" in factory farms.

That, obviously, is what factory farms in Iowa are afraid of.

Likewise, if you could see the sweatshop workers who produced the cheap goods you bought, you might think twice about buying them, too.

And if you could read on the label whether the foods you bought contained GMOs or not, you'd have the freedom to choose.

Most of us live in an appalling state of denial.

Sunshine is the best disinfectant.

And for those who could see footage shot inside a factory farm and still eat meat from there, more power to you. Eating meat is inherently violent. I'm not passing judgment on that. Just be honest with yourself about it. I have more respect for hunters who shoot their own meat and know exactly what they're getting than I do for people who pick up cellophane-wrapped cuts of meat at the local supermarket and live in total denial about the slaughter that brought those packages to the store.

11. I don't see how this bill could pass Constitutional muster?
Also I figured whistle blower laws would prevent this also?
