Well Hawaii is NOT going to get it from the trade winds... wrong time of the year, so yes, when GLOBAL circulation gets to Hawaii it will be background.

The West Coast, on the other hand, might get MINIMAL exposure.

But if he is getting this advise, I gotta wonder if this really goes to nightmare... in which case we may get more than just MINIMAL... but still NOT dangerous.

2. The problem with Obama...frankly speaking...is that he puts conventional insiders all around him

almost exclusively.

and then they tell him that everything's fine --crudely generalizing.

many times they underestimate what every outsider can see --why? because they have a vested interested in doing so.

mixing up the kind of people he has around him so that there is a counterbalance to that would've helped but again and again, a person like Geitner stays and a person like Volcker leaves.

...are wrong in their optimism at this point. Of course, if you've noticed, there's precious little information coming out of the Fukushima area and no pictures or video at all that I'm aware of.

However, presumably they were able to get some visual from the air or a satellite to identify that roof of No. 4 is cracked. Presumably both President Obama and the Canadian PM have access to imagery and climate information which supports their statements.

Or they're bullshitting or their sources are wrong. But I'd imagine both of them are doing their best to get as much good information on this as possible.

but if the President of Mexico was playing it cool I get it. Most of the country is out of the main brunt.
