Man is a fool
our mother, nature, did not ask for the Gulf disaster, or for any nuclear events.

we should not perpetuate what we cannot control.

the days of "Little House on the Prairie" are all we deserve...our species cannot handle anything more advanced.

1. Agree. We seem intent on "conquering" the earth, when in reality it can support
and nourish us if we just live with it in HARMONY.

5. A prophetic metaphor?
I keep thinking about those films, and the swath of destruction... and wishing it was still just all about Buck Dharma's killer guitar riffs.

8. Mother nature's a harsh mistress
As far a Godzilla goes, I was just thinking that if you had tried to sell the events of the last five days as a screenplay for a disaster film (9.0 earthquake, giant tsunami, nuke plants melting down) you probably would have been laughed out of the office.

9. I think you're right...
That particular trifecta would be hard to imagine if it weren't true... no one would believe it.

4. The other day, my 12 year old niece overhead us talking about
all the recent quakes and tsunamis and said "Maybe the Earth is trying to kick us off the planet because of what we do to it."

6. On the one hand it's an interesting insight ...
... but on the other hand it's straight of "Survivor" and voting one off the island.

Always makes me tear up a little.

Thanks for sharing this pearl... may she grow ever so wiser with time, and a long life to do it in.

12. Thank you. She's very into science and is concerned about
global warming and the environment. And last year she was outraged when a classmate told her that evolution wasn't true! Yeah, I think we've got a liberal here, lol.
