There are many very intelligent folks here so lets put together our |
|
own Election Finance Bill and present to our Senators and see if we can do some real reform in the way that those who run for public office may raise money to pay for that campaign and put in some real world consequences to accepting money from lobbyist and corporate types that want to buy senators, congressmen, judges, mayors, governors, etc.
Any one interested?

1. I think it'd be easier to just buy ourselves a couple of Senators |

That's the traditional method

2. All kinds of folks are interested but few politicians. |

The thought is better spent on a way to make them pass such legislation.
We have long had reasonable proposals for years and years but the owners and their minions aren't playing it.

3. It's pretty simple .... |

unlimited contributions, but all contributions would go through a clearinghouse to ensure citizenship/US owned company. Then the clearinghouse would distribute the dollars to the candidate but not tell the candidate or his/her campaign where the money came from (i.e. donor). It would NOT be against the law to lie about contributing to a candidate or creating a false instrument (read that as a receipt) documenting your contribution.
The idea that money is free speech would be preserved and not limited, you get to support the candidate of your choice - but the candidate is never sure who is the supporter.
