They've been cutting back and forth the last few minutes but it's on now. Here's a snap I took just a minute or two ago:



The anchor said the haze is due to the smoke and not distance. That there's just a haze of smoke all around it. I have (anecdotally) heard wind has died down recently and this is probably the reason, if so.

This pic was taken earlier in the day, showing the smoke from the fire:

Kyodo is quoting NHK as there is smoke rising from near the plant. Not sure where.

Someone posted this link on Reuters blog. The photo and white smoke were REALLY clear a few minutes, but now it is very dark(smoke I suspect)

NOTE: This is purported to come from some close source to the plant. May need to refresh to get new images. It doesn't look like much but if I refresh it manually it is coming back with new images every second or so. Earlier I was able to make out either a plant (like a bush) or some kind of structure on the left hand side.
